About Deborah Sless

Deborah SlessDeborah Sless has spent most of her life deepening her spirituality and being a Healer of the Mind, Body and Spirit.
She has been a psychotherapist in private practice for 22 years, working from a Transactional Analysis, Transpersonal, and Integrative framework.

Deborah calls herself a Wisdomtalker – seeker, speaker and teacher of universal wisdom. She is a Crone/Elder, the keeper of wisdom, learnt through her life experiences and deepening her spiritual connection, her self development and her perceptive observation of people, events and the universe. She is passionate about facilitating people to resolve the obstacles in themselves that stop them living a fulfilling life. Deborah runs a successful private practice as a psychotherapist and spiritual counsellor in London and Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Deborah has been a therapist from when she was a small child growing up in Hampstead, London in the 1950’s the home of psychoanalysis at that time. She became immersed into this world absorbing the processes of psychoanalysis by osmosis as well as learning about the mental and emotional difficulties people can experience. Deborah used it naturally with herself and other people.

In 1990 Deborah’s life circumstances enabled her to train as a hypnotherapist and counsellor. It was during this training that she was introduced to Transactional Analysis (“TA”) and found a psychotherapy theory that deeply resonated with her beliefs. She started to train as a Transactional Analyst. For several years she found herself continuing her training as a hypnotherapist and as a TA psychotherapist. Deborah then decided to also train as an Integrative psychotherapist. In the last 6 years she became interested in transpersonal psychology and psychotherapy and started studying the different aspects of the Transpersonal. Her work as a therapist is deeply rooted in the Transpersonal – those states of consciousness beyond the personal – and the spiritual aspects of life.

It was in 1995 when Deborah was experiencing 24/7 dizziness and went to see a healer that she was introduced to modern spirituality. This opened a door to a new world that she explored in depth and she began to deepen her spiritual journey and spiritual development. Deborah went on to study subjects such as platform mediumship, psychic development, colour therapy and read many books on the different aspects of spirituality, spiritual ideas and spiritual paths.

Then in 2000 Deborah was drawn to go and see a healer a friend had spoken about. In one of her healing sessions she experienced a shamanic awakening. During a healing session Deborah shape shifted into her power animal. This was a very powerful and moving experience. She felt she was being called to study shamanism. This led her over the following years to connect deeply with the shamanic community in England and she qualified as a Shamanic Practitioner.

Deborah SlessDuring 2008 and the early part of 2009 Deborah began to feel she was supposed to take a different direction in her life. This intuitive feeling grew stronger but she was unable to give it form. Deborah focussed her attention on holding the intention that she was willing to accept the next step of her life path. Late one evening this was revealed to her. She had just finished washing up and was opening the fridge door to get a drink before going to bed when she heard a male voice – ‘you are to go and train as an Interfaith Minister’. Deborah has only heard a voice twice before in her life and was totally shocked by what she heard. This was not the path she had ever envisaged herself treading. She undertook the 2 year training and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister and Spiritual Counsellor in July 2011.

The second edition of Deborah’s book Beyond Our Illusions – The key to using Universal Laws to transform your life was published in August 2012.

She is married with two grown up children and divides her time between North West London and Marlow Buckinghamshire.
